...we went here...
and did this...

Final tally of Dave Matthews Band shows:
Joe: 87
Kristin: 1
So I danced my hippie dance and enjoyed our last (and first) summer concert.
(Dave, you might have yourself a new fan.)
Dear Dodgers...

and (most importantly) Bruins...
We are your true and loyal fans, no matter where we may live.
We hereby promise to (a) keep watching your games, even if we have to get special cable for it, (b) cheer really loud for you (even if we are outnumbered) while watching you on the other coast, and (c) always proclaim that you are the best, even if you are in last place.
Though you haven't always had great seasons, (ahem, Dodgers, ahem, Bruins) we love you just the same.
We'll miss our Dodger Dogs, birthday Laker games (especially the one when we sat next to Mitch Kupchak), and our fall tailgates at the Rose Bowl.
Love,
(your always optimistic fans)
the Bishops
We experienced our very first summer thunderstorm when we were back in DC a couple weeks ago. I'm sure summer thunderstorms are great, but I would have much rather liked to have experienced this one inside, and not in the back of a cab on the way to the airport.
Nevertheless, we made it. And this California girl wondered how it could rain. In the summer.
In the meantime, we're soaking in these last few weeks of beautiful sunshine while we can.
We love you, South Pas. You sure make it hard to leave.
We went back last week for a quick trip so that (a) Joe could get some work done, and (b) I could find a new place for us to live. Good news: we were both successful! (and sweaty)

note: this is Dupont, not Shirlington. we would have to give up our first (unborn) child to pay rent in Dupont. so we decided against it.
Welcome the newest residents of Shirlington, an "urban village" of Arlington, just outside of DC.
Shirlington is home to a row of cute restaurants and shops, has its own library, and (especially important) a great coffee shop within walking distance of our new place.
We think we've found the perfect place for us. Now we just have to clarify what they mean by "weatherizing" our apartment.
went to the Orange County Fair (complete with photobooth pics, 4H auctions, and my favorite- a churro!),
had dinner at Fleming's (so delicious I can still taste it) and drinks at Casey's Irish Pub,
and made a trip home to Thousand Oaks for a Cominski BBQ (the best kind).

The bride and the groom both attended Thousand
Oaks High School, but sparks didn't fly until they reconnected eight years later. She invited him to a UCLA football game, he bought her fried chicken for dinner, and they were engaged ten months later.
Almost a year later now, we're off on a new adventure to chase our dreams in "the District". Neither of us can read a map (thank you, GPS) and I get chilly when the temperature drops below 64 degrees, but we're just crazy enough to think we can do anything...together.
